KCMA Corporation recently announced that Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. will now represent KCM Wheel Loaders in the Kansas City region extending through the Northwest Missouri region. The brand new Kansas City branch will celebrate their grand opening Dec. 6, 2017.

Headquartered in Oklahoma City, Kirby-Smith serves the construction, paving, industrial, aggregate, pipeline/oilfield service and various other industries with 10 full-service locations throughout the Midwest. Kirby-Smith will represent KCM Wheel Loaders in addition to their current offerings of Link-Belt Excavators (LBX), Manitowoc Group Cranes, Broderson Cranes, Leeboy Family of Products, Terramac Crawler Carriers, Falcon Asphalt Equipment, and an extensive rental equipment fleet.

“Our partnership with KCMA Corporation brings Kirby-Smith full circle, as Kawasaki was actually the first major manufacturer Mr. Kirby secured when he started his company. Ed and I both have a long and very positive relationship with KCMA, especially people like Gary Bell, KCMA vice president, who was instrumental in Kirby-Smith securing the account all those years ago,” said Jeff Weller, COO and EVP of Kirby-Smith. “KCMA produces world class equipment and is extremely dealer-centric in the way they do business. We look forward to a long and successful partnership in Kansas City, Kan.”

The origin of KCM loaders dates back to 1962, when Kawasaki Heavy Industries built its first articulated wheel loader in Japan. When the loaders were introduced to the North American market 16 years later, the reception they received helped both broaden the scope of the product and expand the network of dealers dedicated to providing the finest equipment and support possible.

In 2010, Kawasaki entered into a joint venture with Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM) — a partnership that successfully combined the technological and manufacturing resources of both companies to deliver superior products and support. HCM purchased KCMA from Kawasaki in 2016, and today, as a subsidiary of one of the largest construction machinery companies in the world, KCMA is securely poised as the source of productive and reliable wheel loaders in the North American wheel loader market.

“Kirby-Smith Machinery will be a welcome addition to our distribution network bringing their expertise in sales, rental, and service in the construction equipment industry to the Midwestern market,” said Al Quinn, KCMA vice president.

“We are extremely excited to offer the full line of KCM loaders here in the Kansas City area," said Tim Yauilla, branch manager, Kansas City. "They are great partners in the construction world with a long history of offering quality loader products in the US market”
