Kubota Tractor Corporation introduced its BX80-Series of sub-compact diesel tractors at the company's annual dealer meeting in Grapevine, Texas. The all-new BX80-Series includes four new tractor models: BX1880, BX2380, BX2680 and BX23S, which leads the sub-compact tractor class with a standard-equipped front loader and backhoe unit.
"Kubota is the market leader in the sub-compact industry since we pioneered the category in 2000 with the introduction of our original BX-Series. We've taken this experience and existing customer feedback to enhance performance and ease-of-use with this exciting new BX80-Series," said Robert Cockroft, Kubota sub-compact and compact tractor product manager. "Whether it's mowing, landscaping or blowing snow, the do-it-all BX-Series makes outdoor chores enjoyable year-round — it's the perfect choice for first-time tractor buyers, and is sure to be the sharpest looking tool in your garage."
The BX1880, BX2380 and the BX2680 are equipped with a rollover protection system, which now conveniently fits through most standard 7-ft. high garage door openings. The series blends ease of operation and versatility with the reliability of Kubota diesel engines. The BX1880, BX2380 and BX2680 deliver 18-, 23-, and 25.5-hp, respectively. A 23-hp engine brings Kubota reliability and superior torque to the new BX23S tractor-loader-backhoe model. Kubota's powerful and efficient, liquid-cooled 3-cylinder diesel engines, combined with four-wheel drive, provide traction and confidence for completing the job while using less fuel than gasoline engines.
The new BX80-Series makes it easier than ever to attach the complete line of tools and implements. The LA344 Swift-Tach loader, offered for the BX1880, BX 2380 and BX2680, and the LA340 Swift-Tach loader for the BX23S, can be removed or attached without the operator leaving the operator's station.
Operators can use the single lever hydraulic disconnect on the LA340 and LA344 Swift-Tach Loader to disconnect all four hydraulic lines at once. Kubota Swift-Tach Loader's no-leak grease fitting, with a grease cap that prevents grease from leaking out the side of the pin, will help keep garages, sheds and barns clear from unwanted messes. Flat-faced "no-spill" coupler also helps keep loader storage areas clean when the loader is disconnected. Options on the LA344S and the LA3340S Swift-Tach Loader include a two-lever quick couple, as well as third-function hydraulics, making the front loader even more versatile.
A new 4-point front hitch enables accessories, like blades, brooms and snowblowers to be equipped. A complete line of rear-mounted Land Pride implements, including rear snowblowers, are easily attached with the standard Category I 3-point hitch. All four BX80 tractors include an easy-attach mid-mount mower, available with fine cut or standard cut deck.
From the moment it is delivered, the BX23S is ready to tackle any tough job with its standard-equipped and LA340 Swift-Tach Loader and all-new BT603 Swift-Connect backhoe. The Kubota Swift-Tach system provides ease in removing and attaching the front loader, while the BT603 Kubota Swift-Connect Backhoe is easy to remove without tools, without any pins to store or lose. All BX80-Series loaders and the BT603 backhoe includes upgraded flat-faced couplers that do not seep fluid, when released or installed, and are easy to connect, even under pressure. A boom lock-out, for increased safety, is standard on the BT603. A 16-in. (40.6 cm) bucket, for even more productivity, and a mechanical thumb, for picking up items such as logs, are optional on the new BX23S, according to the manufacturer.
The hardworking BX80-Series tractors build on Kubota's legendary operator ergonomics and user-intuitive operator controls to make it easier and more comfortable for the operator during any job. The easy-to-read modern dash displays all information needed for operation, and a cubby hole with a 12-volt outlet provides a cell phone charging port. The seat is now more comfortable for a better operator ride, and tilt steering on all three new models improves adjustability while increasing operator comfort. A new design for the distinctive BX-Series front grill guard, which protects the tractor front end, matches the contours of the new aesthetically pleasing tractor design. The full-forward opening hood offers easy cleaning and service access to the Kubota diesel engine, which requires less maintenance than gasoline engines, according to the manufacturer.
