By March, contractors will be able to preview the latest in rental products in a new showroom at Fabick CAT’s Fenton headquarters.

Legacy Building Group LLC is serving as design-builder for Fabick CAT’s new rental/repair facility, as well as for a new maintenance and warehouse building in Boone County.

According to the company, the new facilities forward Fabick CAT’s mission to “ever serve [its] customers better.”

Legacy began construction on the new 25,000-sq.-ft. rental/repair facility in Fenton in September. The design-build contractor also is constructing a 48,400-sq.-ft. maintenance and warehouse facility along Interstate 70, just outside Columbia, which is scheduled to open in the summer of 2005.

The Fenton rental center will feature an expansive showroom with displays of air compressors, concrete tools, rock drills and other Caterpillar products. In addition to the showroom, the facility will include a one-level workshop and a two-level office area.

Replacing Fabick CAT’s current Columbia location at 5320 Rangeline St., the new warehouse/maintenance facility will service tractor-trailers, which often use Caterpillar engines.

Like the Fenton facility, it will include two-story office space and single-story service and maintenance areas.

Building on an energy-saving approach Fabick CAT currently uses at its Fenton headquarters, Legacy is incorporating in-floor radiant heating systems into the two new facilities. With this method, Fabick CAT is able to use waste oil obtained through normal maintenance procedures and recycle it into heat.
