Tutor Perini Corporation, a civil, building and specialty construction company, announced Aug. 4, that a joint venture team comprised of its subsidiary, Lunda Construction Co., together with Ames Construction and Shafer Contracting Co., is being awarded a contract valued at approximately $239 million by the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the 35W & Lake Street Project.

This project involves various highway and access improvements along a 4.5-mile stretch of I-35W south of downtown Minneapolis. The scope of work includes the construction of 23 bridges, 64 cast-in-place retaining walls, grading, drainage, concrete paving and related structures. Construction is expected to begin in August 2017 with substantial completion anticipated in the fall of 2021. The contract value is expected to be included in the Company's reported third quarter 2017 backlog.
