Martin & Martin Auctioneers held an absolute retirement auction in Augusta, Ga., for RW Bussey Construction Company on Aug. 18. Despite a sweltering hot August day in Georgia, a terrific crowd turned out for this sale.

Raford W. Bussey, owner of RW Bussey Construction, was in the construction and paving business for 37 years. He commissioned Martin & Martin to conduct the auction in order to sell his construction and farm equipment as well as trucks, trailers, support equipment and three parcels of land.

Bussey said he's seen a lot of big changes over the years, mostly with the new technology in the industry.

“Things have changed quite a bit from when I started. It's gone from a lot of manual operations to mechanized equipment,” he said.

Raford said he's looking forward to spending more time on his farm raising cattle.
