Construction Equipment Guide

aMasthead has established an original equipment manufacturing facility in Orange Park, Fla.

The center consolidates all of the company’s OEM business under one roof. Getting the 3,750 sq. ft. center built, fully equipped and staffed has been a yearlong project.

The OEM center produces hydraulic hose assemblies and custom hose kits for manufacturers throughout the nation. Assemblies are built according to the customer’s exact specifications, then thoroughly tested and marked with date codes and unique part numbers per the customer’s requirements. Sleeving and bundling are done at the center before the hose assemblies are boxed and shipped to the customer.

The operation is overseen by Phillip Fusco, who has been with Masthead since 1996. During his five years as production manager on the Bridgestone/Masthead project, a shared OEM program, Fusco developed stringent and effective methods for quality control and safety management. In his new duties at the Masthead OEM center, he continues to focus on meeting exact specifications and the highest standards of quality.

Todd Jorgensen, Masthead’s vice president of sales, said, “Masthead is known for mobile hose service, but we have always had a good OEM program in place. The new facility is designed to streamline the process and provide even better service to our customers. Everyone is excited about the improved capabilities.”

The company has 14 branch locations, including seven in Florida, with additional branches in Houston; San Antonio; Brunswick, Ga.; Savannah, Ga.; Birmingham; Indianapolis; and Columbia, S.C.
