MDT Proposes Project to Protect Rock Creek Bridge Foundations

Wed January 30, 2019 - West Edition #3
Montana Department of Transportation

Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to add erosion countermeasures to Rock Creek Bridge located on U.S. Highway 310 approximately one-quarter mile south of Rockvale in Carbon County.

Proposed work includes adding erosion protection to the existing bridge foundations that were identified during recent underwater bridge investigations as having active scour, or soil erosion, surrounding bridge foundations.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in fall of 2020, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding.

No new right-of-way is anticipated for this project. Utility relocations are not currently anticipated.

For more information, please contact Acting Billings District Administrator Rod Nelson at 406/657-0229 or Project Design Engineer Tracy Stoner at 406/444-7610.
