Metrac has realigned its management team to meet the needs of an expanding customer base. During the late l990s, Metrac invested in enhancing its current infrastructure including facilities, vehicle base and personnel. Two new facilities were built, as well, to replace the ones the company had been operating in for years.
The infrastructure that Metrac has developed allows its customers consistent services throughout the entire geographic area that the company covers. With the enhancement of the infrastructure, Metrac recognized the need to change its individual store management philosophy to one that focuses on meeting the changing industry factors. Customers are more mobile and operate within a wider area than years ago. The range of products is growing to meet the needs and opportunities of the industry.
Metrac is taking measures to work as a single company rather than six separate operations, and the changes should result in increased value to its customers.
The following individuals have accepted new roles at Metrac; they are the same individuals that the Metrac customers have put their trust in for years.
Alex McGee previously managed the Metrac Augusta operation, and has accepted the new role of director of product support. According to Metrac, Mcgee brings tremendous value to the parts and service operations at Metrac; his personal approach to managing shows with the customer loyalty that the Augusta operation has maintained for years.
Alton Reed was responsible for the Metrac Gainesville, now Braselton, operation. He has accepted the position of Northern Heavy Equipment Division (HED) sales manager. Reed has the “can do” attitude to get things done, and his new responsibilities will require this kind of focus. The Northern HED includes Metrac’s Adairsville, Atlanta and Braselton sales territories.
Charles Breeding oversaw the Metrac Columbus operation before accepting the responsibilities of Southern Heavy Equipment Division sales manager. Breeding has been in the sales business throughout his career. His area of responsibility includes the sales territories across the Augusta, Columbus and Macon Metrac operations.
Billy Lancaster has managed the Metrac Macon operation since Forest Services, the previous Deere dealer for the Macon area, sold to Metrac in 1994. His new role is that of Forestry Equipment Division manager. Lancaster has been focused on forestry most of his career, and he is currently a board member of the Georgia Forestry Association. He will oversee all forestry marketing and sales for both the Deere and Timberjack product lines throughout the entire Metrac area of responsibility.
Tommy McMillan was taking care of the Atlanta operation, and has accepted the challenge of Used Equipment sales manager. McMillan has kept the Atlanta operation running for the past three years and was one of the company’s highest volume sales representative prior to his role as manager. His sales abilities make him a natural, the company stated, to make sure that Metrac has the used machinery on demand and can move that equipment that requires focus.
