Mobile Section Manager of Alabama AGC Retires After 50 Years

Charlotte Kopf, Mobile Section Manager of Alabama AGC, retires after 50 years. Recognized for strong leadership and advocacy, Carol Harris succeeds her, dedicated to upholding Kopf's legacy in the construction industry.

Charlotte Kopf, Alabama AGC mobile section manager, announced her retirement effective Jan. 31, 2025, after 50 years with the Alabama Associated General Contractors.

Kopf joined the association in 1975 and served in various capacities within the organization until being named the mobile section manager in 1988.

"I am grateful to have retained the confidence of Alabama AGC's officers and boards for these many years," said Kopf. "I am also fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such smart, loyal and talented colleagues to advance Alabama AGC's mission throughout my career."

"We are excited for Charlotte [Kopf] moving on to the next phase of her life after such unwavering dedication to Alabama AGC," said Alabama AGC President Greer Walker, who also serves as the regional manager in Huntsville of Wiregrass Construction in Ariton, Ala. "Our members are grateful for her strong leadership for more than a half a century. She has been a stable force for decades at Alabama AGC, represented our members with the highest level of integrity, elevated our advocacy efforts and committed the association to address all issues affecting the construction industry."

Current Associate Section Manager, Carol Harris will take over the role bringing nearly 20 years of experience to the position.

"This is a great honor for me and a great responsibility," said Harris. "Charlotte has been a close friend and mentor to me, not to mention an unrivaled representative of Alabama's construction industry in Southwest Alabama by representing Alabama AGC as the largest and the best construction organization in the state. We will continue to represent our members in the manner to which they are accustomed by following Charlotte's legacy with the best support available. While there is no way to fill her shoes, we will do all we can to honor her incredible and historic tenure with Alabama AGC."

Harris joined Alabama AGC in 2008 and worked closely with Kopf to manage the daily tasks of the association's membership activities and accounting services.
