Construction Equipment Guide

The employees at the original Modern Machinery branch in Spokane are set to receive a new building this summer. The new 35,000-sq.-ft. facility will allow Modern to better meet the needs of its customers by expanding its parts storage and shop space.

The building features 10,000 sq. ft. of parts warehouse, six general repair bays, an undercarriage assembly bay, and a welding/fabrication bay and a steam-clean bay. The bays are heated to prevent ice build-up during the cold winter months.

Despite some minor weather related delays over the winter months, the project is set to wrap up in mid-July.

Modern is using this time to improve its offerings and to be in best position to serve.

Modern Machinery, one of the largest Komatsu dealers in North America, has been selling and servicing heavy machinery since 1944. As the exclusive dealer for Komatsu in the Pacific Northwest, the company employs 370 plus workers in eleven locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho plus a twelfth location in Russia.

Modern Machinery also carries equipment from Allied, Atlas Copco, Kolberg-Pioneer and JCI, Cummins, Esco, Fleetguard, Hensley, Sennebogen, JRB, LeeBoy, Moxy, Timbco, Valmet Komatsu Forestry, Hamm, Precision Husky, Vögele and Wirtgen.
