Construction Equipment Guide

Multiquip’s AR-13D tandem drum ride-on rollers are now available in both diesel- and gasoline-powered models.

The 3,142-lb. (1,414 kg) AR-13D diesel-fueled model is built for asphalt and compaction jobs making it ideal for work on parking lots, driveways, road repair and patchwork. The AR-13D roller boasts 3,100 lbs. (1,395 kg.) of centrifugal force with 4,000 vibrations per minute. It has a 35.7-in. (91 cm) drum width, 39 in. (99 cm) overall width and travels up to 4.8 mph (7.7 kmh).

The AR-13D sports a 7.75-in. (20 cm) curb clearance ensuring flush compaction to the curb and unobstructed driver visibility. The roller’s front drum vibration with static rear drum provides a smooth and even surface while for additional ballast the rear drum can be filled with water. The roller has a 60-gal. (227 L) water tank.

The AR-13D is powered by a 23.8-hp Vanguard/Daihatsu diesel engine and has a maintenance-free vibratory assembly to reduce downtime. The ride-on roller also features conveniently located water valves for accurate adjustment of each drum, heavy-duty tie-down hooks to secure the roller during transport, and extra-strength drum scrapers — two each in the front and rear of the machine — that are fully adjustable for optimum drum-cleaning ability.

Other benefits include tapered drum edges to reduce asphalt tracks, rust-resistant power-coated paint and 6.5 hours of fuel supply for extended operation. A hydrostatic drive with infinitely variable speed control for simple maneuvering in both directions allows operators to stop and start the roller smoothly while promoting even operation and eliminating asphalt marring.

Optional ROPS with safety belt are available for added operator protection.
