NAPA Elects Granite Construction Veep as Its New Chairman

James H. Roberts, senior vice president of Granite Construction Inc. in Watsonville, CA, has been elected chairman of the board of the National Asphalt Pavement Association for 2006.

Roberts was installed in office during NAPA’s 51st Annual Convention in Hollywood, FL.

Other national officers serving with Roberts for 2006 include Ronald M. White, Superior Paving Corp., Gainesville, VA, first vice chairman; G.M. “Mac” Badgett, Vulcan Materials Co., Birmingham, AL, second vice chairman; James E. Weeks, Barrett Paving Materials Inc., Cincinnati, OH, third vice chairman; Blaine M. Johnson, Midwest Asphalt Corporation, Hopkins, MN, secretary; and Thomas W. Hill, Oldcastle Materials Inc., Washington, D.C., treasurer.

Roberts’ NAPA activities include being a member of the Executive Committee since 2001. He has served on numerous committees and task forces, including the Legislative Committee, the Membership Steering Committee, the NAPA Research and Education Foundation (NAPAREF) Board of Trustees, the Marketing Field Implementation Task Force, and the NAPA/NAPAREF Smithsonian America on the Move Committee.
