The Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio Inc. (NGLCO) held its 50th Annual Summer Field Days event on Aug. 8 in Madison, Ohio, at the Chalet Debonne Vineyards. With more than 175 acres of vines, the vineyards are Ohio's largest estate winery.

Designed to keep association members up to date on the latest information on techniques and innovations in the field of nursery industry, the Annual Summer Field Days event offers an informal setting providing excellent opportunities to network and the exchange of ideas among those attending.

The event included educational sessions and a trade show with equipment dealers and industry suppliers presenting a wide range of equipment, products and services geared toward Ohio's dynamic nursery and landscape industry. Other activities included winery tours, workshops and Ohio Certified Nursery Technician Exams.

Bordered to the north by Lake Erie and touted as the Nursery Capital of the World, the Lake County region has more than 100 licensed nurseries and a nursery stock covering more than 5,000 acres. Made up of nurseries varying in size from less than an acre to more than 900 acres, Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio members employ more than 2,700 full and part-time workers and generate a combined annual wholesale volume exceeding $90,000.000 in sales.

As well as the association's milestone 50th anniversary of its Annual Field Day Event, this year also marked the Nursery Growers of Lake County Ohio 90th anniversary. The association has been serving the educational needs and promoting the success of nursery growers in the fertile Lake County, Ohio, region since 1927.
