Northland JCB hosted Innovate 2019 Oct. 8 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
Approximately 600 guests came together to learn about Northland JCB as well as the JCB organization as a whole. Highlights of the event included the international debut of several impressive and innovative JCB machines, an exceptional keynote speaker from JCB, numerous static machine displays with helpful staff available to answer questions, breakfast and lunch, and a meet and greet with two Patriot's cheerleaders.
Two exciting additions to the bi-annual construction event included inviting outside vendors to set up stations throughout the mezzanine and debuting a demo area. This was the first year a demonstration area was available for attendees to experience and test run a variety of machines and attachments just outside of the stadium.
JCB's North American launch of the X-Series included the 131X, 150X, and 220X. These newly-designed excavators are more than an eye-pleasing cosmetic overhaul; they're more productive, more quiet, and more comfortable. They're also easier for the operator to work with and for the service technician to work on.
Also making a splash was the JCB 19C-1E, the first fully-electric mini-excavator providing equal power to its diesel counterpart. However, it offers zero-emission and a fraction noise, making it ideal for a variety of locations that have limitations such as hospitals, schools, restricted and urban job sites. It comes equipped with the Bosch Rexroth load-sensing hydraulic system for excellent digging performance with a maximum dig depth of 9 ft. 3 in.
The 1CXT backhoe loader skid steer is a compact machine with impressive versatility offering a universal quick hitch that is compatible with most skid steer attachments. It also is capable of 90-degree excavation.
"One of the great parts about JCB is that part of their DNA is innovation," said Northland JCB President, Mark Silva. "As a manufacturer they are always "finding a better way". This really gives customers an advantage in the marketplace and allows them a better way of doing things, giving them a competitive edge. This is a great day for us to give back to our customers, inviting them to this great venue and sharing with them what we are all about. We can show them the latest innovation in all of our product lines.
"We are having a great show at the stadium. We have an excellent relationship with Gillette, and people love being where the Super Bowl champions are."
One of the highly anticipated aspects of this year's event was the new demo area. According to Chris Jackson, Northland JCB marketing and event organizer, customers wanted to be able to try out the equipment.
"The big thing for Innovate 2019 was figuring out how to make it happen," he said.
Working closely with Gillette, they decided that a lot outside of the stadium would be suitable. Sitework Specialist of Foxboro, Mass., assisted in bringing in all of the necessary material. JCB provided a variety of equipment like the hydradig, teleskids, backhoe loader, wheel loaders and new site dumper. Avant, VibroScreen and Davis Village Solutions also had machines, and products guests could try.
Jackson added, "Another part of exciting people included bringing in outside vendors that have very innovative products, services, and solutions that our customers would appreciate. We wanted to make those business connections, and that's going to help us along the way. It's going to help our customers, and at the end of the day, that's really all we want to do."
Northland JCB offers sales, construction equipment, rental, service and parts for new and used JCB compact and mid-range equipment. The company has been serving New England customers since 1969 with its headquarters in Wilmington, Mass., and five additional branch locations throughout New England.
In early October, JCB held its annual Top 50 dealer conference in Germany. Northland JCB received recognition for the new addition of the JCB Uptime Center at its Wilmington headquarters. This center receives information from JCB LiveLink Systems, allowing for proactive product support and monitoring machine health.
Northland JCB also was awarded the 2019 JCB Dealers of Excellence Award and JCB Breakthrough Growth Award winner recognized for being high performing in customer service, product support, and business development. CEG
