Nortrax broke ground Dec. 6 on its new facility in LaVergne, Tenn, amid “Equipment Row.”

The 20,000 sq. ft. facility is being constructed on 8.5 acres along J.P. Hennessey Drive. It will replace the Nortrax location at White’s Creek Pike in Nashville.

“The current facility is much smaller. We need a bigger facility,” said General Manager Marty Hlawati. “The other dealers are all in this area, which will benefit our customers and help meet their needs.”

When complete, the new facility will have eight service bays, with plans for four more already in the works. The shop will have a track press to allow Nortrax technicians to perform undercarriage work for all brands of equipment.

Approximately 33 people will staff the new location, including 15 in the service department, seven in the parts department, eight in sales and various other positions.

Among those who attended the ceremony were Nortrax President Tim Murphy and Regional Vice President Mike Slinger. They said the bigger facility will enable the LaVergne staff to improve customer service and satisfaction.

The new location is scheduled to open in September 2008.
