Nortrax Equipment Company-South has acquired Furrow-Justice Machinery Corporation, a John Deere construction and forestry dealership with six branches throughout Tennessee, and East Texas Machinery Inc., a dealership with two locations in Texas.

The dealerships are the third and fourth that Nortrax-South has acquired since last November.

Nortrax-South is a subsidiary of Nortrax II, a joint venture between John Deere Construction Equipment Company (JDCEC) and CSFB Private Equity. Nortrax II consolidates, develops and manages Deere construction equipment dealerships. “We’re very pleased to have these two dealer groups as a part of our growing organization,” said Chuck Paugh, Nortrax-South president. “They both have an excellent reputation for supporting their customers, and this is an area in which we set very high standards. With our combined financial and management strength, we believe we can better serve the needs of our current customers and build on that reputation to grow our customer base.”

In Tennessee, Nortrax-South now has locations in Chattanooga, Cookeville, Jackson, Kingsport, Knoxville, Manchester, Memphis and Nashville. In east Texas, locations include Longview and Lufkin. The company also has locations in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana, with corporate headquarters in Baton Rouge.

Paugh said Nortrax-South plans to continue expansion with more acquisitions. “This is another step in our evolving growth. We are building a network which provides our customers with the very best business solutions.”

John Deere Construction Equipment Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deere & Company, sells and services a full line of construction and forestry equipment through a network of worldwide dealerships.
