PacWest Machinery, the dealer in the Pacific Northwest for Volvo and other leading brands of construction equipment, held a successful fall open house at its new dealership facility in Portland, Ore. Throughout the day, an estimated attendance of nearly 400 customers, employees and neighbors enjoyed a day of equipment walk arounds, barbeque, music and raffles near the end of a busy construction season. In addition, customers had an opportunity to interact with more than 20 factory representatives from PacWest's supplier partners.

The new 22,000 sq.-ft. dealership sits on approximately six acres and includes a 10-bay service center designed to accommodate a full range of equipment. There is an expanded parts warehouse, modern showroom and state-of-the-art service capabilities. The larger facility allows the company to stock more equipment as well as host demonstrations and training. The new location is at 19255 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland, Ore., and has easy freeway access making it ideal to deliver products and services into Oregon and Southwest Washington.

“We're investing heavily to meet the needs of a growing customer base,” said Jolene Logue, president of PacWest Machinery. “Delivering responsive service requires that we provide our employees the tools, facilities and training to perform at their best.” Tim Hurst, Oregon general manager of the company added “This new facility is an incredible commitment to the Oregon market. We've had so many positive comments from customers, suppliers, employees and their family members.”

Making their Oregon debut at the PacWest open house were the following Volvo exclusives:

• The new Volvo A60H articulated hauler — the world's largest fully articulated hauler.

• The new DD30B and DD35B Volvo rollers — these Tier IV Final machines are designed to increase performance and reduce fuel consumption.

• Active Care Direct tutorials — Volvo's innovative machine monitoring service and a revolutionary approach to telematics.

PacWest Machinery is the Volvo Construction Equipment dealer for the Pacific Northwest and has responsibility for the sales, rental and aftermarket support for the full line of Volvo's general production equipment, road machinery and compact equipment. In addition, the company sells and supports equipment from other quality manufacturers including Metso Minerals, Roadtec, Tymco, GOMACO, Etnyre, Mauldin, Broce Brooms, SDLG, Genesis, Furukawa, ESCO and others. PacWest Machinery provides equipment and aftermarket services from four facilities located in Portland and Eugene, Ore., and in Seattle and Spokane, Wash., plus additional support from an extensive mobile service fleet. PacWest Machinery is owned by the Joshua Green Corporation and company management.

“We are excited to see PacWest Machinery expand and upgrade its facilities to support its goal of delivering exceptional customer service,” said Stephen Roy, president, Volvo CE Region Americas. “The investments PacWest has made in facilities, inventory, staffing and training are critical to meeting market demand as well as providing a premium experience the customer expects.”
