Palmer Johnson Power Systems has been named an authorized distributor and service center of AxleTech International, the Troy, MI-based manufacturer of axles and powertrain components and systems for the heavy-duty off-highway and military markets.

“Adding AxleTech products is a natural fit for Palmer Johnson,” said Eric Quinn, Palmer Johnson sales manager. “Rockwell and AxleTech axles and components are prevalent on the equipment we specialize in. This adds another quality product [Palmer Johnson] can offer its customers throughout its 13-branch network. Palmer Johnson’s goal is to become a one-stop shop for powertrain service and parts.”

Palmer Johnson’s axle remanufacturing will be housed in the company’s new 65,000-sq.-ft. headquarters in Sun Prairie, WI. The expansion is in response to rapid growth of national transmission and axle remanufacturing programs. The facility, consisting of more than 50,000 sq. ft. of shop space, is designed specifically for axle and transmission remanufacturing and service.

AxleTech International is a global manufacturer and supplier of axles, axle components, planetary axles, brakes and aftermarket parts for commercial specialty trucks, military vehicles and off-highway machines used in the construction, material handling, forestry, mining and agricultural markets.

The company was created to enable a singular focus on the needs of off-highway and specialty vehicle customers by providing high-quality products and customer service. The privately-owned company has its origins as the off-highway division of Rockwell (now ArvinMeritor).

Palmer Johnson Power Systems is a power transmission and axle sales, service and remanufacturing company that distributes a wide range of powertrain components and related products from manufacturers including Twin Disc, ZF Off-Highway, Funk Manufacturing, Wichita Clutch, F.W. Murphy and Eaton Airflex.
