On April 2, Patten CAT Certified Operator Trainer Don Styx stopped by Curran Contracting Company of Crystal Lake, Ill., to give the crew a “refresher” course on skid steer loader and double drum asphalt vibratory roller operating, just in time for the start of construction season.

Styx was on hand to teach the Curran crew tips and tricks to help their operations become more productive.

“The Curran guys had the basic working knowledge of how to operate Cat equipment. It’s my job to come in and teach value added operating skills that will increase their productivity, and ultimately, their bottom line,” said Styx.

Curran Contracting Company is one of the largest asphalt paving companies in the state of Illinois. Patten offers customers operator training on Caterpillar equipment, such as skid steer loaders, multi terrain loaders, compact track loaders, backhoe loaders, track-type tractors/dozers, rubber tire loaders or hydraulic excavators.
