Patten Industries Inc. accompanied guests to a compact construction equipment and turf solutions presentation at the Edwards Demonstration and Application Center near Caterpillar’s headquarters in Peoria, IL.
Landscape contractors, municipalities and others who use or have a need for compact construction equipment participated in an all expenses paid day trip including transportation and a random drawing for prizes.
At Edwards, attendees were able to hear, see and even operate Caterpillar equipment including B-Series skid steers, B-Series multi-terrain loaders, mini-excavators, a telehandler and a variety of Cat Work Tools.
Turf equipment representatives from Hustler, Exmark and Stihl were on site and information on Cat Finance was provided by Midwest Region Territory Manager Mary Kay Koenig.
Attendees from as far north as Lake Bluff, IL, and as far south as Channahon, IL, watched several landscape applications performed. Behind the glass and down in the dirt with a wireless microphone, Cat event coordinator, Kent Pellegrini, described what was happening.
With the use of a tiller, rakes, buckets, a tree spade, forks, an auger and other attachments, the demonstrators were able to dig, trench, set irrigation, remove and plant a tree, spread gravel and mulch, place sod and perform other everyday landscape applications with ease. Attendees also had the opportunity to operate their choice of compact equipment and interact with product specialists.
