Industry veteran Jim Gill has been appointed regional branch manager/Fuchs specialist of Penn Jersey Machinery LLC. Located in the company's New Jersey/Staten Island, N.Y., office, Gill will help serve customers in the New Jersey, New York, eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland markets. In his new position, Gill's responsibilities include managing the full product line of the branch's sales, service and parts support activities as well as serve as a scrap industry specialist.

“Jim is an excellent addition to the Penn Jersey team, as he has covered the New Jersey and New York territory for his entire work life,” said John Seroskie, vice president and general manager of Penn Jersey. “He brings a wealth of equipment experience to Penn Jersey, especially with regard to the scrap industry, which will allow us to more deeply serve our customers' needs.”

A 36-year industry veteran, Gill most recently worked for 10 years as a sales representative for a New Jersey material handling equipment distributor. Prior to that, he spent 26 years working directly for scrap processing operations with responsibilities ranging from plant operations to equipment maintenance to sales.

As a scrap industry specialist, he will assist the Penn Jersey sales team and customers by providing site specific applications support, yard layout consultation and proper equipment sizing for the company's material handling equipment lines, which includes Fuchs purpose-built material handlers.

“Jim offers extensive technical applications expertise and will be a definite asset for companies looking to boost efficiencies with their material handling equipment,” said Anthony Laslavic, regional sales manager of Fuchs material handlers.

The Fuchs purpose-built material handler line includes models with operating weights ranging from 41,888 to 191,800 lb. (19,000 to 87,000 kg), 27 to 80 ft. (8.2 to 24.3 m) working radii and provide high lift capacities at extended reaches. The line features durable wheel- or track-driven undercarriages, elevating cabs and intuitive control, and a modular machine design allows customers to easily choose from a wide variety of options to meet site specific needs. Penn Jersey has distributed Fuchs material handlers for nearly 10 years within a territory that today includes the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.

“I am excited for the opportunity work for Penn Jersey and with our customers to provide the equipment solutions they need to be successful,” said Gill. “I am also eager to help scrap operations more efficiently meet their material handling equipment needs. Fuchs handlers offer more advanced features and a better warranty than other purpose-built material handler options on the market.”
