Philippi-Hagenbuch Inc. offers the first true dual-purpose haulage package as a dependable solution to multiple material haulage. This high-volume truck haulage combination, with an in-service/out-of-service Autogate Tailgate, is designed to haul both lightweight coal and heavier overburden and can be manufactured for payloads from 61 to 329 cubic meters (80-430 cu. yds.) in size. This haulage package gives truck operators the flexibility to haul both high and low density materials with the same truck.
Operation of the unit is safe and efficient. For hauling high-density materials such as overburden, the tailgate is stored in the out-of-service position. To haul coal, the tailgate is placed in the standard service position. The entire tailgate in-service/out-of-service operation is controlled from the truck cab and is accomplished in less than 90 seconds. And since the tailgate easily is repositioned, a truck can go from one haulage application to another a number of times during a shift.
The out-of-service tailgate adds a built-in safeguard against overloading the unit with heavy, dense material. With the tailgate hydraulically locked out-of-service, the possibility of truck overload is minimized and nearly eliminated because of reduced body volume. Dense material load placement is controlled, protecting the truck’s chassis and integrity.
The truck achieves maximum yardage and improved load retention with the tailgate in the in service position.
In mining operations where different densities of material are hauled, the dual-purpose haulage package makes effective haulage achievable. This haulage package’s ability to handle both coal and overburden reduces the number of trucks needed to haul material, reduces the required maintenance on the truck fleet and increases production. Philippi-Hagenbuch will custom engineer and design a dual-purpose haulage unit to fit the individual mine requirements for unique materials and material densities, desired payloads and special loading height and width requirements.
