Pittsfield Lawn & Tractor was founded in 1986 by Albert, Andy and Richard Wojtkowski, three brothers in their late teens and early twenties from Pittsfield, Mass. The business took flight in their father’s old milk processing plant, which is where the company still operates today.

The Wojtkowski brothers were the youngest people to become a certified John Deere compact equipment dealer in New England and have grown the store from a specialty shop to one of western Massachusetts’ largest and most trusted power equipment, construction equipment and recreational vehicle dealers.

Over the years, Pittsfield Lawn & Tractor has taken on numerous different lines of equipment, including John Deere, Dynapac, Yanmar, Woods, Stihl, Wacker Neuson, JLG, CAM Superline trailers, Big Tex trailers, Kawasaki UTVs, Arctic Cat, Can-Am, Ski-Doo, Honda Generators and more, making it one of the most diverse equipment dealers in the Massachusetts area.

The company has an onsite parts and service department, staffed with certified/trained technicians to work on every line it carries. Its fleet of service trucks allows it to come to the customer’s assistance, anytime they’re in need.

“Customer service is our number one concern. We know how important it is to be taken care of and to have someone you can trust. Our parts department is staffed by experienced professionals who want to make sure you get the right part at the right time and for a fair price. Not only can our team answer your questions intelligently, they’ll help you find the parts you need,” the company said.

About 15 years ago, Pittsfield Lawn & Tractor began renting heavy machinery. It quickly saw the earning potential and has been striving to expand its heavy equipment line by way of sales and rentals since then. It currently has more than 100 pieces of equipment on its lot and is known for its competitive prices, flexible terms and outstanding customer service.

Pittsfield Lawn & Tractor has a full line of rental equipment from handheld hammer drills up to 80,000-lb. excavators. It currently is offering a new consignment deal, in which it will advertise a customer’s piece of equipment, sell it, and handle the entire transaction process for a pre-negotiated fee. It also recently expanded its territory into the Connecticut market, opening a new location in Brookfield. The new location has a strict focus on selling and renting heavy machinery.

In March of 2014, Pittsfield brought Chris Reseska on board. Reseska, who has been a key asset in the growth of the heavy equipment division, has been in the heavy equipment industry for 30 years. Most of those years were spent developing the Kobelco brand as well as Case, New Holland and Kawasaki in Connecticut and southern New England.

Reseska’s focus will be to offer professional consignment services as well as outright purchase and certified appraisals in the New York and New England territories.

Reseska said, “I’m very excited to be part of the PLT team. In all my years in the industry I have never met a more seasoned, dedicated, customer oriented organization. I look forward to being an integral part of PLT’s growth in the heavy equipment industry. We are well poised to offer services unlike any other dealer in this area.”
