Purple Wave Auction announced that Derek Nigh joined the company as a district sales director.

Purple Wave, which is based in Manhattan, Kan., offers online, no-reserve equipment auctions serving the agriculture, construction, government and fleet industries, providing opportunities for customers to buy and sell equipment with confidence.

As a district sales director, Nigh will be responsible for building a sales team of territory sales managers and collaborating with them to grow the region. The team will work together to raise awareness of the company in the Mountain West and provide customers the easiest way to buy and sell equipment.

"I am looking forward to building lasting relationships and helping customers achieve their goals," Nigh said. "I want to provide value with each visit. I get a lot of satisfaction by serving my customers and seeing them achieve success. I really love meeting new people."

Nigh spent the last 29 years in the equipment financing and equipment auction businesses. His six years as an auctioneer and equipment finance experience allowed him to gain a broad range of knowledge with yellow iron, fleet vehicles, forestry and industrial equipment. Nigh's region covers most of Utah and southern Idaho.
