Professional Women in Construction (PWC) President Barbara Armand, president and CEO of Armand Corp., has welcomed Ellen Greiper a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Garden City office, to the PWC board of directors. Greiper was unanimously elected to the board by the other eight members. Last year, Greiper and four other attorneys from the Long Island law office enacted a “mock mediation” session dramatizing the complexities of the litigation process in construction disputes at a PWC event.
In her statement to the PWC Board, Greiper noted, “For the last year … I have been continually impressed with the talent, ingenuity and dedication of the organization’s members, as well as its board of directors…Advancing opportunities for women in the construction arena is very important to me.”
Greiper has more than 20 years of experience defending multi-party construction defect cases in the federal and state courts of New York. She has litigated high-exposure construction and labor law cases representing owners and general contractors. She has been appointed arbitrator for the district courts in Nassau County hearing no-fault and contract claims, as well as arbitrating attorney for fee disputes brought in the Supreme Court. She also is a mediator for trial-ready cases in the Supreme Court, Nassau County. A member of several construction industry organizations, she is a frequent speaker at legal organizations on emerging topics in the construction arena and a regular contributor to industry publications.
