Construction Equipment Guide

Rammer City hammer models offer users sound suppression for quiet operation and other enhancements for increased productivity. All City models feature a dust tight housing which improves wear properties for long hammer life. City models are offered in the popular smaller 20 Series, the mid-range 60 Series and the larger G Series.

The G 80 City Pro and G 90 City Pro models feature Rammer’s operator- adjustable impact energy setting system. The operator can adjust operating pressure from the cab to precisely match power to breaking conditions encountered on the job. The operator selects one of three impact energy settings — economy, normal or boost.

The economy mode delivers 75 percent of maximum energy which reduces wear on hammer parts and increases fuel efficiency. The normal setting is for general use and boost provides a high momentary impact energy when tougher breaking conditions are encountered. This system provides users with a versatile hammer which efficiently and effectively handles a wide range of breaking conditions, increases hammer part life, extends tool life and reduces vibration.

The G 80 and G 90 City Pro hammers are rated in the 24,464 to 31,136-N and 22,240 to 35,584-N (5,500-7,000 and 5,000-8,000 ft./lb.) impact energy classes respectively. The multiple ratings indicate the impact energy adjustment by the Pro-Controller microprocessor control.

The City range also includes the City Jet models which integrate water spray plumbing into the housing for dust suppression. The Jet models have been popular in tunneling applications, and users in populated areas have found they are an efficient and cost-effective means of controlling dust.

Piping and nozzles are located inside the hammer casing where they are protected from damage. The adjustable pump provides a maximum output of 40 liters per min. at 200 bars (10.6 gpm at 2,900 psi) pressure. The system generates small water droplets at a high speed for maximum dust binding and minimal water usage. All City models can be equipped with the Jet dust suppression system.

Rammer City models also feature built-in channels for automatic lubrication which can easily be added. In addition, air channels are built in to easily equip the hammer for underwater use. All City hammers feature Rammer’s rugged housing design, simple service, field changeable lower tool bushings and tools. The membrane accumulator in Rammer hammers dampens pressure peaks and protects carrier hydraulics. Versatile City hammers offer users a wide range of models designed for maximum efficiency and productivity.
