Chris Isaza, Empire Equipment, said he was considering bidding on two Cat 345C L excavators at the auction and ended up bringing both of them home. Patrick Beame, equipment buyer, Milam’s Equipment Sales, starts up this SK210 excavator before placing a bid.  Joseph (L), president of Gencon, and Jim Ainoris, retired crane operator of Gencon, said that they purchased the same Link-Belt HTC 8660 15 years ago and plan to bid on this crane to “revisit old times.” Nathan A. McCutcheon, executive manager of McCutcheon Enterprises Inc. (MEI) carefully backs this Volvo EC300DL crawler excavator back into its spot. These wheel loaders were ready to go on the block. This 2007 Komatsu PC450HRD-7 Galeo high-reach demolition excavator sold for $245,000. The auction featured a variety of dozers.

More than 3,000 bidders participated online and in person at Ritchie Bros.' multi-million dollar unreserved public equipment auction in North East, Md., on Oct. 24.

With bidders from 40 countries, approximately 87 percent of the equipment in the auction was sold to out-of-state buyers, from as far away as Pakistan, Japan and Hong Kong. Online bidders purchased approximately 52 percent of the equipment sold (by dollar value).

More than 2,250 equipment items and trucks were sold in the auction, including more than 75 compactors, 70 excavators, 60 dump trucks, 40 loaders, 25 skid steers, 15 dozers, 95 truck tractors, 80 trailers and more.
