 Ignacio Castro, owner of Castro 2 Construction in Los Angeles, came to the auction to replace one of his forklifts. Castro thinks this 2014 Cat 10,000 lb. 4x4x4 telescopic forklift would be a great replacement.
 Jose Bidil, owner of Bidil Farms in Modesto, Calif., grows almonds and walnuts. Bidil is hoping to purchase a loader like this 2011 Cat 2-speed multi-terrain loader to help with harvesting.
 Tyler Dennison (L) and Cy Keller of Keller Equipment, Yucaipa, Calif., are looking for quality equipment for resale. This 2011 Bobcat T190 multi-terrain loader has their attention.

 Fred Njau of Los Angeles is a private exporter who exports equipment back to his home country of Kenya. Njau hopes to purchase this 1998 Massey Ferguson 274 MFWD tractor.
 Omar Glache of El Paso, Texas, owns a cattle ranch with more than 1,000 head. Shopping for maintenance equipment, he carefully surveyed this 1990 Cat crawler tractor.
 Emilia Castillo, owner of Castillo Plaster in Palmdale, Calif., was planning on purchasing a variety of different machinery. Castillo noticed this Cat vibratory padfoot compactor and paused to take a closer look.

More than 3,450 bidders participated online and in person at Ritchie Bros.' multi-million-dollar unreserved public equipment auction in Los Angeles, Calif., on Dec. 8, 2017.

With bidders from 40 countries, approximately 31 percent of the equipment in the auction was sold to out-of-state buyers, from as far away as Germany, New Zealand and the Philippines. Online bidders purchased approximately 42 percent of the equipment sold (by dollar value).

Twenty-two hundred equipment items and trucks were sold in the auction, including more than 65 compactors, 65 skid steers, 55 loader backhoes, 50 excavators, more than 30 dump trucks, more than 20 loaders, more than 10 dozers, more than 145 truck tractors and more than 180 trailers.
