Roadtec has promoted Andy Pennington to Mid Atlantic sales manager.

In addition to Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia and Delaware, Pennington’s sales territory also will now include Delaware and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania, and Camden, Atlantic, Salem and Cape May counties in New Jersey.

“I’m proud of the promotion and am looking forward to the opportunity to work with old and new customers,” Pennington said.

Pennington possesses 22 years of sales and sales management experience in the construction industry, beginning his career with Jesco in New Jersey in the late 1980s, then on to L.B. Smith, CC&T and Briggs Equipment in Florida, before coming on board with Roadtec. He also was president of the Delaware Valley Associated Equipment Dealers from 2000 to 2001. Pennington earned top sales honors while with L.B. Smith, earning salesmen of the year for eastern Pennsylvania.

In his new position, Pennington will report to Mark Smith, who held Pennington’s current role, prior to his own promotion — to North American sales manager.

Smith noted that “Andy’s so knowledgeable not only about our Roadtec products and our business philosophy, but he knows a lot of road builders in his market area and they know him. I’m confident that Andy will be able to introduce more road builders to Roadtec, and I look forward to working with him on the continued growth of our marketshare in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.”

Pennington is eager to begin touting Roadtec and its respected service reputation to customers in his new territory.

“We’re obsessed with customer service. The main thing about Roadtec is if you need something they’ll get it to you; whatever you need to help a customer, they’ll make sure you have it right away,” he said.

Roadtec produces asphalt pavers, Shuttle Buggy material transfer vehicles, cold planers, spray pavers, and soil stabilizers/reclaimers for road builders worldwide. Founded as part of the Astec Industries family of companies in 1982, Roadtec is located in Chattanooga, Tenn.
