Roadtec's RP-170 highway class paver is designed with the goal of quality product and simple operation. It has a 174-hp Cummins QSB 6.7 Tier IV engine, a minimum paving width of 8 ft. (2.4 m) and a maximum paving width of 15 ft. 6 in. (4.7 m).

Eric Baker, director of marketing and sales support said, "Our machines are designed to boost productivity, reliability and efficiency. Each of these criteria move us toward the ultimate goal, which is the success of our customers. The RP-170 is no exception."

Quality Results

To avoid centerline segregation, the RP-170 is equipped with a delta plate that prevents mix from rolling forward under the paver. Also, the conveyor opening is 13 in. (33 cm) high, enabling excellent throughput. Flow gates control asphalt in the head of material so operators can regulate material flow.

Clear View

The RP-170-e has no stacks, so the operator's field of vision is not obscured. Dual operator stations hydraulically move out beyond the sides of the machine for clear views of the screed, augers, material tunnel and matching line.

Controls are located at the armrests, so operators can keep eyes on the job.

Easy Maintenance

Workers can easily access maintenance areas through doors on the sides and top of the paver. The hood lifts hydraulically but there also is a manual lift backup. Narrow shipping width makes transportation among job sites quick and easy.

The 170 also comes in a tracked model, the 175-e.
