Roland Machinery has added Gordon Sims as a field mechanic.

A certified technician, Sims is responsible for on-site service throughout the Peoria, Ill., area.

The seven Illinois counties where he is providing preventive maintenance equipment service and emergency repairs include Fulton, Knox, Marshall, McLean, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford.

“We are pleased to have Gordon join our Springfield area group,” said Gary Meister, product support sales manager at Roland Machinery. “He brings many years of experience in crane, aggregate, mining and construction equipment repairs and is a valuable addition to our company.”

Sims is teaming up with Tom Elam, equipment salesmen, and Darrin Caho, PSSR, to provide the Peoria area with one comprehensive source for new, used and rental equipment along with equipment parts and service.

Before joining Roland Machinery, Sims worked as a mechanic for 34 years. He has serviced a wide variety of machinery, including cranes, engines, drive trains and electrical systems. He particularly is experienced in crane computer repair and calibration, an unusual expertise among mechanics.
