SC&RA Announces 2024 Crane & Rigging Safety Award Winners

The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) has announced its full slate of companies and individuals who have earned 2024 Crane & Rigging Safety Awards.

The winners will be recognized at the Association's 2024 Annual Conference, April 15-19, at the Omni Barton Creek, Austin, Texas.

This year, 12 SC&RA member companies received a Crane & Rigging Zero Accidents Award for having no recordable accidents, which is in addition to the following criteria: Incident Rate (TRIR) < 1.3; Worker's Modification Rate less than or equal to 1.0; Incident Expenses Frequency Rate less than or equal to 1.0; and Zero fatalities during the current program year (January 1 – December 31, 2023). The companies are:

  • Buckner HeavyLift Cranes — Graham, N.C.
  • Connelly Crane Rental Corp. — Detroit, Mich.
  • Dobson Field Services Inc. — Bay City, Mich.
  • Imperial Crane Services Inc. — Bridgeview, Ill.
  • JK Crane — Kenvil, N.J.
  • McNally-Nimergood Co. — Saginaw, Mich.
  • Nexgen Crane & Rigging — Hamilton, Miss.
  • Olori Crane Service Inc. — Nanuet, N.Y.
  • Precision Crane Service — Windsor, Calif.
  • Roll Group — Dayton, Texas
  • Sautter Crane Rental Inc. — Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Waggoner Equipment Rental LLC — Wood River, Ill.

Twenty-four SC&RA member companies received Crane & Rigging Safety Awards based on their superior safety records. The criteria were: Incident Rate (TRIR) less than or equal to 1.3; Worker's Modification Rate less than or equal to 1.0; Incident Expenses Frequency Rate less than or equal to 1.0; and zero fatalities during the current program year (January 1 – December 31, 2023). The companies are:

Two SC&RA member companies earned a Crane & Rigging Safety Improvement Award by reducing their incident rate compared to the previous year's contest entry. They also met the following requirements: Incident Rate (TRIR) less than or equal to 1.3; Worker's Modification Rate less than or equal to 1.0; Incident Expenses Frequency Rate less than or equal to 1.0; and zero fatalities during the current program year (January 1 – December 31, 2023). The winners are:

  • ProLift Rigging LLC — Memphis, Tenn.
  • PSC Crane & Rigging — Piqua, Ohio

Additionally, 85 individuals, representing 16 member companies, received Crane Operator Safety Awards. This award is presented to certified crane operators who exhibit exemplary work achievements while also meeting the following requirements: Certified by a nationally accredited certification body; 10,000 consecutive man hours; Zero accidents or incidents; Zero lost calendar days; and zero failed random or post-accident drug test during the program year. The winners are:

Rounding out the awards, the Rigger Safety Award was given to riggers who exhibit exemplary work achievements while also meeting the following criteria: Certified by a nationally accredited certification body; 10,000 consecutive man hours; Zero accidents or incidents; Zero lost calendar days; and zero failed random or post-accident drug test during the program year. Winners this year total 13 individuals and represent six member companies:
