The Terex/CMI SF2204B HVW from Terex Roadbuilding can adjust from its 8-ft. 4-in. (2.4 m) transport width to its 20-ft. (6.1 m) paving configuration in moments, rather than hours.
Optional side kits now enable contractors to build barrier and parapet walls, curb and gutters, sidewalks and cart paths.
At 53,000 lb. (24,040 kg) and with a 250-hp (180 kW) diesel engine, the SF2204B HVW can construct large parapet and median barrier walls when equipped with the mold attachment.
Initial installation of the entire single side-mount system, which supports both parapet and median barrier molds, is completed within a day and the molds can be switched within an hour.
The attachment features a hopper with integral vibrators, spring-loaded side forms and hydraulically-actuated, extended lift capabilities.
“You need a machine with weight and power to build these larger walls,” said Tom Devonshire, concrete mobile equipment product manager for Terex Roadbuilding. “The SF2204B HVW with our wall mold will construct median barriers up to 112 inches tall.”
The Curb/Curb-Gutter Mold System side kit, using the hydraulic side form with quick change locking system, increases SF2204B HVW flexibility.
A zero clearance, expandable paving mold system allows for flat paving widths from 4 to 10 ft. wide (1.22 to 3.04 m) or 5 to 12 ft .wide (1.5 to 3.7 m) of cart paths, lane widening or shoulders.
The Hydra-Mation grade control system delivers .1 mm precision for elevation, steering and cross slope control.
A simple hydraulic design features only two moving parts — one to control leg elevation and the other for steering.
