Specialty Rentals & Attachments of Hammonton, N.J., recently added to its extensive product lineup by announcing that it will now offer High Rail excavators.

These wheeled excavators are able to run on rail lines and use a wide array of attachments, including Fecon mulching heads, as well as grapples, hammers, tampers, shears, magnets, rotating couplers and more. Contractors also will have the option to switch attachments as needed because all the excavators are equipped with quick couplers.

“We have always specialized in attachments, so this line adds a whole new dimension to Specialty Rentals & Attachments, so that we can help our customers who work in the rail industry,” said Robert Harrell Jr. of Specialty Rentals & Attachments.

The High Rail excavators will be available to customers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Connecticut and Virginia.

“All of our personnel have been trained to work on this highly specialized equipment,” said Harrell Jr. “We are also certificated on most rail lines on the East Coast and we anticipate being certified for all rail lines by the end of 2018.”

Specialty Rentals & Attachments was founded in 2001 by Bob Harrell Sr. “on a wing and prayer and the help of a lot of friends.” Harrell Sr. is currently in his 40th year overall in the construction industry. His son, Robert Jr., joined the company in 2009 after college and handles all inside sales and the day-to-day operations of the business.

The company's fully modernized shop and facility in Hammonton, N.J., is supported by trained technicians and service trucks to keep the company's fleet of 40-plus late-model excavators and 100-plus attachments “up and ready on a moment's notice,” said Harrell Jr.” Our shop has the capabilities to fabricate whatever is needed for specialty applications,” he added.

Specialty Rentals & Attachments' expansive excavator fleet can, in addition to High Rail, run the following products: shears, grapples, rotating grapples, concrete pulverizers, universal processors, augers, magnets, clamshell buckets, vibratory side grip hammers and grinding heads.

Specialty Rentals & Attachments represents the following companies: Allied Construction Products (hammers and tampers); Jennings Equipment (top/side-mounted vibratory hammers); JRB (couplers); Paladin Brands (buckets and attachments); Fecon mulching heads; Antraquip (mixing and concrete grinding heads); Rototilt couplers; Gensco magnets and Kenco Attachments (barrier lifters).
