Construction Equipment Guide

The folks in East Syracuse, NY, say they have a bond like no other. Take for example the relationship between Tracey Road Equipment and Santaro Industries, which began 25 years ago.

When Jerry Tracey, owner and president of Tracey Road Equipment, founded his company in 1976, one of his first customers was Anthony Santaro of Santaro Industries.

Since then, the companies have grown and expanded, and now dominate the construction industry in central New York state and beyond.

Lasting Relationships

Over the years Santaro Industries has purchased a variety of equipment from Tracey Road Equipment.

Michael Santaro, Anthony’s son and current president of Santaro Industries, recently purchased several Ingersoll-Rand compactors and Blaw-Knox pavers.

Daniel Darden, COO, Santaro Industries said that the company has stuck with the Ingersoll-Rand product because of its unsurpassed productivity, competitive price, high resale value and very strong worldwide distribution.

Darden added that Tracey Road Equipment has given them excellent service as the company’s distributor. “On the rare instances that an Ingersoll-Rand unit goes down, Tracey Road Equipment gives us extraordinary assistance,” he said. “They either have the unit up and running in a matter of hours or they replace it. Tracey employees are great and very accommodating to our needs. We have been using Ingersoll-Rand rollers since the early ’80s, and have made a strong commitment to continue to do so well into the new millennium. The bottom line is the Ingersoll-Rand products are No. 1 in the market today, and we have a relationship with a dealer who gives us service that’s second to none.”

Fitting the Bill

Thanks to the hard work of Jerry Tracey, Ralph Lubinski, sales representative, Tracey Road Equipment and Scott Collins, district manager, Ingersoll-Rand, Santaro was able to distribute machines to his various job sites within two to three weeks.

Santaro Industries

Santaro Industries is a third-generation construction company, which was started more than 60 years ago.

The company’s equipment fleet of more than 750 machines is used on job sites up and down the East Coast.

The company’s road and highway construction credentials include the successful completion of bridges and interstates, parking lots, curbing and sidewalks. The company’s site preparation and environmental remediation work includes demolition, excavation, grading and utility installation.
