Sullair introduced its new 400H Tier IV Final portable air compressor at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2017. The new compressor, powered by a Cummins QSF3.8 diesel engine, offers a versatile blend of flow and pressures up to 400 cfm at 150 psi, catering to a wide variety of customers in the construction and mining industries.

“Sullair continually works with customers to determine how it can improve its products and help meet customers' most critical needs,” said Nav Sharma, Sullair senior product manager – Rental & Infrastructure. “This particular model is an example of our direct response to customer demand.”

The 400H Cummins portable unit is one of the company's first to don a new look. All new Sullair units will feature “The Sullair Power Stripe,” which represents a recommitment to three things: reliability, durability and performance.

To help guard against downtime on the job site, the 400H has a large, 65-gallon fuel tank that allows for uninterrupted operation during a full eight-hour shift. Its after-treatment system includes only selective catalytic reduction without a diesel particulate filter, resulting in no engine re-generation, increased ease of use and reduced maintenance.

With an easy-to-use control panel, operator training is reduced, and users are provided an interface to easily access gauges and controls to monitor compressor performance. The 400H was also designed with serviceability in mind. Its swing doors make it easier to clean coolers, enabling the machine to operate at optimal performance, even in 120-degree Fahrenheit ambient temperatures. Side doors with slam latches allow easy access for service and maintenance; and the 400H's compact design enables easier towing and maneuverability.

Also allowing for improved maintenance and servicing, Sullair will offer 50-, 250-, and 500- hour service kits tailored to this model. Each service kit includes replacement parts needed for the specified service interval. Having all the parts at hand in a single kit simplifies servicing and the inventory management of parts.

The 400H is part of the Sullair 375 product family, which comes standard with electric brake, low fuel shutdown, air filter maintenance indicators, and discharge air temperatures, all of which are typically optional on most competitive machines. Featuring the legendary Sullair air end and available in a feature-rich package, the improved model provides the proven reliability customers have come to expect from Sullair.
