Sullair unveiled its new 1600H Tier IV Final portable air compressor at ConExpo/Con-AGG 2017. The new compressor, powered by the Sullair 25 Series air end and a Caterpillar C15 engine, offers versatile operation, rated at 1600 cfm at 100/150 psi.

Compared to previous models, the completely redesigned Tier IV Final Emissions Compliant 1600H is 20 percent smaller and 2,500 lbs. lighter for easier maneuverability, storage, handling and transit. The unit also offers improved fuel efficiency—approximately 20 percent lower part load fuel consumption and 10 percent overall fuel consumption—with up to 10 hours of uninterrupted run time; a minimum of 2:1 fuel tank fill to diesel exhaust fluid tank fill; and quick-connections and easy-operation valve for an external diesel fuel supply.

"We carefully analyzed every detail of the new 1600H to ensure it provides users with the hardest working, most efficient and user-friendly design possible," said Justin Tuchscherer, senior product manager, Rental & Infrastructure at Sullair. "This unit is a game changer for Sullair portable offerings."

One of the more significant new features on the unit is the seven-inch touch screen controller—the first of its kind to be incorporated into a Sullair compressor. The durable controller can stand up to the harshest environments, while providing easily accessible, in-depth compressor and engine information.

The 1600H is also one of the first models to display the company's new brand look. All new Sullair units will feature "The Sullair Power Stripe," which represents a recommitment to three things: reliability, durability and performance.

The new model incorporates many additional customer-driven improvements, including being highway towable running gear rated at 65 mph, sized to easily fit two units on a standard flatbed or drop-deck over-the-road trailer, and incorporating fork lift pockets standard on all models. For improved serviceability, it also offers a 1,500-hour air-oil separator design with lower lubricant requirements and an extended 500-hour engine oil service level.
