Dallas-based MH2Technologies, a leading provider of Web-based, job-management tools, announced that its MH2Build technology will be taught to students at Sussex Technical High School in Georgetown, DE, starting in January 2001.
Students enrolled in the school’s carpentry/mill and cabinet and electrical programs will learn to use the MH2Build system during their junior year. In their senior year, they will demonstrate their advanced academic and technical skills — including the use of MH2Build — through the development and presentation of their senior projects.
A U.S. Department of Education National School of Excellence and one of the original 10 schools in the United States to be named a New American High School, Sussex Technical High School offers students a rigorous mix of academic and technical courses. The school’s program is integrated so that all academic and technical courses relate to each other and are taught in real-world, meaningful ways.
“Our advisory committee, which is made up of electricians, homebuilders and other construction professionals, was very excited to hear that we are bringing MH2Build into the classroom,” said Principal Sandra Walls-Culotta. “The teachers are excited, too. They knew that there were new technologies out there. Now they have one of the first.”
“Sandra and her husband, who’s in the commercial construction business, were our guests at our NASCAR hospitality event in Dover,” said Michael Holigan, president of MH2Technologies. “That’s where they found out about MH2Build. Now here she is, just a few months later, bringing the MH2Build technology to her students. She’s giving them a real edge in the workplace. Their future employers won’t have to train them to use the new standard in construction technology. They’ll graduate knowing how to use MH2Build, and in some cases, know more about our system than their employers.”
MH2Technologies has four individual technology platforms — scheduling, inspection, procurement and exchange — that are integrated to build total solutions for the homebuilding industry. MH2Build uses the scheduling, inspection and procurement modules so that homebuilders can reduce cycle time and overhead, and benefit from having more exact job scheduling.
MH2Supply, the system used by dealers, suppliers and subcontractors to collaborate with homebuilders using MH2Build, uses the procurement, scheduling and exchange platforms. MH2Supply provides the platform that dealers and contractors need to reach customers in a real-time manner, have access to accurate forecasting, improve customer service, and reduce unnecessary inventory.
Banks and other financial institutions use MH2Finance, which combines the inspection and scheduling module to fund draws faster and more accurately for homebuilders, contractors, dealers and suppliers. A key advantage of MH2Technologies services, said the manufacturer, is that customers do not have to abandon their existing accounting and ERP systems to benefit from MH2. Since MH2 is an application service provider, all of the MH2 systems integrate into existing back office systems used by homebuilders, contractors, and dealers.
“We work hard to give our students all of the skills they need to go out and be valuable employees,” Walls-Culotta added. “With MH2Build, they are many steps ahead.”
“Sandra, her staff and their community did a phenomenal job of turning Sussex Tech around over the past 10 years,” said Holigan. “They strive everyday to be the best, and that’s why we are so proud that she has asked us to help prepare her students for success in the real world.”
MH2Technologies provides Internet-based job management, scheduling and materials ordering solutions.
