With an operating weight of 7,275 lbs. (3,300 kg), a wheelbase of only 5 ft. 7.5 in. (1.7 m), and a universal hydraulic SSL quick-attach, Takeuchi’s TW40 features a compact, turf-friendly footprint that allows for greater maneuverability in tight spaces on turf and dirt. It also is ideal for material hauling and other applications on hard surfaces and pavement — with less wear and tear on components than a tracked machine. This new wheel loader delivers class-leading power and precision control for increased productivity, and also features a heavy-duty universal hydraulic SSL quick-attach, making it a unique and extremely versatile alternative to larger skid steer loaders and track loaders for a variety of landscaping and hardscaping applications, according to the manufacturer.

Powerful, quiet and fuel-efficient, the TW40 is equipped with a turbocharged 39.4 hp, EPA Interim Tier IV-compliant Perkins engine with extended-life coolant, a dual element air cleaner with restriction indicator, and a heavy-duty radiator and oil cooler.

The TW40 features a robust heavy-duty tire assembly, two-speed travel, cable-operated parking brake, and hydraulic drum service brakes.

Like other Takeuchi machines, this new wheel loader features outboard planetary drives. This design keeps the oil housed separately from the differentials, and allows for larger bearings for increased durability and efficiency. This design also reduces heat, and minimizes build-up in the oil.

Engineered for power and durability, the TW40’s robust frame and Z-Bar loader linkage provide powerful breakout forces, and is designed for optimal performance, even in the most demanding applications.

Hydraulics

The TW40’s auxiliary hydraulic hoses are plumbed to end of the loader arm, with the hoses routed inside the loader arm to protect from damage. Quick-connect valves allow for easy attachment installation, and a diverter valve allows the operator to divert flow from the coupler function to an attachment that requires auxiliary flow. The TW40 also features priority steering and an auxiliary hydraulic detent for continuous operation.

The rugged universal SSL quick-attach allows a variety of skid steer and track loader attachments to be used on a single compact machine. This feature improves the adaptability of the machine, making it a highly efficient and versatile attachment carrier for landscapers, hardscapers and municipalities, according to the manufacturer.

Operator’s Station

The TW40 features a spacious automotive-style cab with a deluxe adjustable suspension seat and fully adjustable arm rests. The TW40 also comes equipped with several safety features including a removable 6-bolt level 1 FOPS guard, a folding ROPS structure, and a deluxe lighting package for work, driving and signal lights. Large steps and grab-handles allow safe, easy entry and egress, and an elevated cab provides great working sight-lines and 360-degree visibility for added safety on the job. An optional enclosed and heated cab with front and rear wipers also is available.
