The Terex Pegson 428 Trakpactor is a track-mounted, fixed-hammer horizontal impact crusher with a 42- by 28-in. (107 by 71 cm) feed opening. The plant is designed for crushing aggregates and concrete/asphalt rubble. Two full-size and two half-size standard manganese blow bars are fitted as standard. The plant crushes up to 400 tons (363 t) per hour with a 20 to 1 reduction ratio.
The unit utilizes a variable-speed 150- by 42-in. (380 by 107 cm) grizzly feeder. The fixed, Hardox steel hopper is 158 by 83 in. (4 by 2 m) with a capacity up to 5 cu. yd. (3.8 cu m) gross, depending on feed method.
The 39-in.-wide (99 cm) on-plant product conveyor utilizes a troughed belt with fixed tail end and discharges at a height of 120 in. (3.3 m). It has a suspended, self-cleaning magnet and canvas removable dust covers are fitted at the head end beyond the magnet area.
The 24-in.-wide (61 cm) on-plant side dirt conveyor folds hydraulically for travel. At 91 in. wide (2.3 m), 136 in. high (3.4 m), weighing 77,000 lbs. (34,927 kg), the plant is easy to move, according to the manufacturer.
Dust suppression is provided by spray bars with atomizer nozzles mounted over the impactor discharge point and the product conveyor head. All drives, flywheels, pulleys and couplings have wire mesh or sheet metal guards. The PowerPak is a 300-hp (223.6 kW), six-cylinder Caterpillar C-9.
Options include high manganese or high chrome blow bars, four full-size blow bars in lieu of two full and two half-size and a single idler belt weigher with integrator and speed-sensing wheel fitted to the main product conveyor.
