The Keith Companies, Inc., an engineering and consulting services firm, has announced that its Michigan-based division Ayres, Lewis, Norris & May, Inc. (ALNM) has been awarded a $500,000 contract from Genesee County, MI to provide general consulting and professional engineering services for a county-wide sewer system flow monitoring and rain gauging system. The contract covers the first two phases of a $960,000 contract.
ALNM will provide services for the study and report phase, preliminary and final design, construction engineering and observation. This project includes the selection and installation of flow monitoring equipment into sanitary sewer locations throughout the county, pump station meters, and new rain gauges in eight locations. ALNM will also design the software for data collection, storage, and reporting. After installation, ALNM will oversee the process, maintain and monitor the equipment, compile data for one year, and report the results to the county.
The construction will begin in May 2002 and is expected to be completed by Spring 2003.
"In our first couple of months as a combined team," stated Aram H. Keith, The Keith Companies chairman and CEO, "I am impressed with ALNM’s depth, expertise, and client relationships. This is as we anticipated, turning out to be a combined company relationship that will be beneficial to us, the employees of ALNM, and our combined clients."
He added, "With projects such as this, ALNM’s enhancement of our public works segment surpasses our expectation. The scope and diversity of services they provide demonstrate our commitment to expand into the Midwest and augments our ability to cross sell our services."
