Thief Absconds With Heavy Equipment in Broad Daylight

Police are asking for the public's help after a brazen theft.

The South Strand News is reporting that police in South Carolina have produced a photo of a pickup truck they think may have been used in the theft.

At about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, the Georgetown Police Department released an image of an pickup truck that was towing a Bobcat Skid Steer as it traveled down a city street.

On Aug. 7, the GPD asked for the public’s help in locating the Bobcat, which is owned by the city and allegedly taken from a vacant lot near Bonds Street. In the latest update, police said the truck was spotted at about 7:17 on Aug. 6 leaving town on U.S. Route 521.
