Tramac’s 140 hydraulic breaker offers an ideal combination of blow energy and blow frequency for increased productivity in trenching or demolition for backhoe loaders and large mini excavators from 4.1 to 11.7 metric tons (4.5 to 13 tons). Providing 10 percent more blow energy than the previous 130 model and covering a wider flow range, the Tramac 140 breaker can be used on carriers where lower flows in the range of 72 to 121 liters per minute (19 to 32 gpm) are available. It complements the previously launched Tramac 150 hammer which accepts higher flow from 110 to 140 liters per minute (29 to 37 gpm) now being used on the latest backhoe models.
The 140 breaker combines the advantages of its predecessors for its high reliability and its high output and back pressure acceptance. It is an ideal breaker for general applications including road repair, in-plant demolition, interior gut-out and other demanding demolition jobs. Featured, is an innovation progressive start system which helps the operator position the tool properly against the material, holding the tool in place as full pressure is applied.
The Tramac 140 also offers great adaptability. The breaker’s production can be matched to the material to be broken and its ability to work with high back pressures and a wide range of flows means it can work with a large range of carriers. Complementing these features is a hydraulic recoil absorber that protects the boom of the carrier and increases operating comfort by reducing vibrations at the operator’s cab.
Tramac’s 140 breaker is available as an optional metro silenced version to provide significant sound suppression. A noise reduction kit can also be retrofitted to the standard model. As well as the standard side plate configuration, the 140 is now available with an alternative top mount bracket.
The approximate operating weight of the Tramac 140 breaker is 370 kilograms (815 lbs.). The tool diameter is 7.6 centimeters (3 in.) with a recommended flow range of 72 to 121 liters per minute (19 to 32 gpm). This new breaker has an operating pressure of 1,800 psi and a striking rate of 845 to 1,160 blows per minute.
This breaker has a sealed accumulator not requiring continuous recharging and incorporates protection against blank firing. These features extend the working life and reduce maintenance costs and time.
