In 2006, Kubota Corporation announced the introduction of an 18,000-lb. (8,165 kg) excavator by 2007.

Harter Equipment of Englishtown, N.J., a Kubota dealer since 1971, knew it would be a winner and ordered heavily.

“We had several customers waiting for us to get our first machine in. Our first units arrived January 2 and Dennis Trautweiler, a long-time Harter customer, was the first to take delivery of one,” said Sean Sheehan, compact equipment manager.

In business since 1967, Dennis Trautweiler Construction of Brick, N.J., is an excavating contractor that has purchased more than a dozen Kubotas from Harter in the past decade.

When describing what he liked best about the KX080, Trautweiler said, “Well, first it’s a Kubota. The specs beat all the competition and I love the visibility and mirrors for working in tight quarters.”

Harter Equipment Inc. has been serving customers throughout New Jersey for 40 years. In addition to the full Kubota line, it also represents John Deere, Kobelco, Kawasaki, Gehl, Rayco, Interstate, Kent, JRB, Tink, Woods, Wain-Roy, Geith and CE Attachments.
