UCA Welcomes New President

The Underground Contractors Association (UCA) of Illinois celebrated the inauguration of its 26th President, Terry Barnett of Glenbrook Excavating and Concrete Incorporated and said farewell to former President Gary Klein of Laser Construction on Oct. 5 at Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove, Ill.

Among the 200 UCA members in attendance at the event were State Senators Carole Pankau (R-23), Martin Sandoval (D-12) and DuPage Country Board Chairman Bob Shillerstrom.

Diane Turek and Josh Moore of OSHA as well as Carol Lord of MARBA, John Brining of CISCO, Kim Robinson of ICIC, and Beth Doria, executive director of the Federation of Women also joined UCA to usher in the new board of directors.

New executive committee members Senior Vice President John J. Scapin of Neslund and Associates and Treasurer Ben D’Andrea of Neptune Construction also were welcomed. New board members voted in during the dinner meeting included Ryan Hill of Airy’s Inc., John Loftus of Patten Industries, and Dale Oltoff of Olthoff Inc.

The association’s next event is the annual Holiday Party, Dec. 8 at the Marriott Hotel in Oakbrook, Ill.
