Unique Truck Accessories, Sturgis, Mich., designed a heavy duty drawer roller box in early 2015, based on demand from contractors who needed a floor box but also wanted to save every pound of payload possible. The BedSafe was developed and tested to be half the weight of the steel boxes of similar design, according to the company.

Reinforcing the top with 1/8 in. (.3 cm) welded channels allows a top load of 500 lbs. (227 kg) evenly distributed. The drawer is constructed of 1/8 in. aluminum with a welded divider system coupled with adjustable dividers from front to back to keep components separated and organized. The drawer has a 350 lb. (158.7 kg) capacity and operates smoothly with a roller bearing design.

Features also include a plunger latch system to protect against unintentional closing. A push button lock makes for easy entry and protection against theft and an overhead rain gutter assists against water rushing into the drawer when on an incline and assists in weather resistance.

The Brute BedSafe is available in six sizes to fit nearly every application of pickup bed, service body and van. It comes in bright aluminum diamond tread material. The BedSafe can be purchased through most truck accessory dealers around the country.
