In celebration of Manufacturing Day, U.S. Sen. John Thune made a stop at the Trail King Mitchell, S.D., production facility. On location, Sen. Thune visited with employees while learning about Trail King's innovative manufacturing processes.

Thune made time to shake hands and thank the Trail King team for the hard work they are completing. Thune celebrated the impact that manufacturing has on the state of South Dakota and the entire Mitchell region.

Ed Thompson, plant manager, gave a tour of the manufacturing plant, pointing out areas of interest to include the robotic welders, the welding training facility and the newly-remodeled paint booths. He also shared the company's proud and humble history, starting in a garage in Mitchell, S.D., to becoming the leading manufacturer of trailers in North America.
