Utica Man Named AGC of America’s National Director

At its annual convention in Honolulu, HI, the national members of the Associated General Contractors of America elected Joseph L. Gigliotti its National Highway Director.

Gigliotti, the 1991, president of the New York State Chapter Inc., Associated General Contractors, currently works for Lancaster Development Inc., in Richmondville, NY. He will serve a three-year term as National Highway Director.

A native of Utica, Gigliotti has worked in the construction industry his entire career, for Delia Construction, then for Barrett Paving Materials and now for LDI.

Gigliotti also has a long and distinguished history with the New York State Chapter, AGC, having served on numerous committees and the board of directors since he first became involved with the chapter in the 1970s.

Gigliotti has been a member of the board of directors since 1981, first as Region 7 director in 1981; Region 2 from 1982 to 1987; on the executive committee from 1988 to 1992 and as an active past president.

Gigliotti has served more than 25 years on the chapter’s legislative committee from 1976 to the present. During those years, he was vice chairman from 1988 to 1991 and chairman from 1992 to 1994.

Other committees he has participated on include: Policy Action Committee, 1976- 77; Continued Highway Funding Task Force, 1986-91; vice chairman 1987-91; Design Responsibility Task Force, 1992-93; Asphalt Paving Committee, 1992-93; Nominating Committee, 1992-96, vice chairman, 1993, chairman 1992; Long Range Planning Committee, 1993-96; Open Shop Committee, 1976-97; Membership Development Committee, 1986-97; Conventions and Programs Committee, 1981-97; Design Build Task Force, 1998-99; Annual Meeting Committee, 1998-2000; Strategic Highway Funding Task Force, 1998-present; and Project Delivery Task Force, 2000-present.
