West Side Tractor Sales has plans to open a new facility in Rockdale, Ill., on April 1, 2008. The new 3-acre facility will be located on south Frontage Road west of Rt. 6 (Larkin Avenue), which runs parallel to Interstate I-80.

The 23,000-sq.-ft. facility features a 10-bay repair shop with a 34-ft. ceiling and heated shop floors.

Additionally, two 10-ton (9 t) overhead cranes will span all 10 bays. The service department will be staffed with Local 150 shop technicians, lube trucks technicians and fully equipped field service vehicles.

The parts department will showcase a 4000-sq.-ft. warehouse with 30-ft. ceiling height and full hydraulic hose making capabilities.

West Side Tractor Sales started construction in July 2007 and will complete the facility by end of January 2008.

“We’re working on the finishing touches in the offices areas like the IT stuff, lighting and flooring. In the shop, we’re finishing up the plumbing for the heated floors and pouring the concrete,” Steve Deller, general service manager of West Side Tractor Sales, said.

Deller added that the new Rockdale location marks an on going commitment to bring state–of-the-art facilities closer to where customers need them.

“This new facility is a little farther west in our coverage area,” Deller said. “We’re trying to capitalize on the market growth in Will County, the nearby intersection of I-80 and I-55, which is just three miles west of the new store. We will benefit from the newly opened I-355 extension that feeds I-80 just a few miles east of the new location.”

West Side Tractor has five locations to service the Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana area in Naperville, Rockford, South Holland, Wauconda and Rockdale (near Joliet), Ill.
