Construction Equipment Guide

Metso Minerals’s Nordberg HP5 is the second in an all-new series of high-performance cone crushers designed to give aggregates producers increased efficiency and high-quality end products.

The HP5 can produce finer products with fewer crushing stages, thereby saving energy and lowering costs. With a combination of optimized speed and a large throw, the HP5 provides high reduction ratios. Its highly efficient crushing action provides the best power utilization per cone diameter, resulting in a lower kWh per ton of crushed end product and with lower re-circulation load, according to the manufacturer.

Dual-acting hydraulic tramp release cylinders enable the HP5 to pass tramp iron that would stall, or damage, other crushers. And if the crusher does stops under load, those dual-acting cylinders provide a large clearing stroke, independent of liner wear, to quickly clear the crushing cavity.

Rated at 607 hp (450 kW), the new Nordberg HP5 offers a larger capacity than the HP4.
